Our first response to Covid

With the waves of Covid swelling, our studio turned its focus to the nurses and doctors standing against the tide on behalf of us all. Sourcing concepts and insights from around the world of makers, we developed our best version of a reusable face shield. In turn, friends and family answered the call as well, trading their own household funds for increasingly scarce materials. It was in this way that within days - and with wind in our sails - Superfab’s best hands and tools were set to work to produce as many shields as possible.

Together, these efforts have produced nearly 1000 face shields for the medical community. With the help of a social fabric of wonderfully committed volunteers, we’ve donated many of these to smaller clinics in the Portland area who seem to have otherwise slipped through the cracks and been desperately seeking PPE. Much of the remainder has fed into our county’s response network, and some have even now headed out of state to shield brave faces in other lands.
